Keeping up to date with planning matters, specifically rural and agricultural planning, has helped us to achieve the right direction for our farm. Wanting to share his experiences with other farmers, William was pleased to host a CLA event for 40 members - Know your rights.
Monks Green Farm has also hosted an event for 50 delegates of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants. The event covered all aspects of Class Q with Solicitor Graham Gover followed by a presentation given by William before departing for a tour of our farm which included our diversification projects.
The CLAs Rural Business Conference took place on 29th November 2018 at the QE11 Conference Centre, London, and saw a full agenda beginning with Tim Breitmeyer, CLA President who welcomed Channel 4’s Newsreader, Cathy Newman who chaired the day.
Rt Hon Michael Gove, the then Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, was key speaker with William Ashley, Stephen Vickers and Michael Wells giving an insight into how small farms to large estates invest in their communities.
William presented the audience of 500 with an insight on his diversification projects, specifically focussing on the last 6 years.
William covered planning, financing, tenants, permitted development, in house management and staff development.
